ABSTRACT

This study was carried out on statistical analysis on rate of industrial accidents using Emenite Limited, Enugu, Enugu State as case study. Specifically, the study was aimed at examining the various causes of industrial accidents; find out the effect of industrial accident on the victim; discover the effect of industrial accident on the manager; access the effect of industrial accident on the firm; report the industrial accident in Emenite Limited over ten years period (1995 – 2004). The study employed the survey descriptive research design. A total of 150 responses were validated from the survey.  From the responses obtained and analysed, the findings revealed that industrial accidents have different effects on the victim, the manager, and the firm. Furthermore, there are significant differences among various forms of industrial accident in Emenite Limited. The study recommend Manufacturing firms should endeavor to provide necessary safety measures and equipment for the safeguarding of their employees. This will motivate them to work effectively bearing in mind that they are safe. More so, Emenite Limited should take note of the various  forms of industrial accidents that took place in their firm and study the recurrent ones, then put measures in place to prevent their repeatation in the firm.
